Our day-to-day work involves working with our clients to harness their technical inventive concepts, advise on patentability and patent strategy, prepare and file patent applications and prosecute them to grant.

Through our approach, our team have built up strong professional relationships with our clients and we have built a very strong reputation in the indigenous technology sector in Ireland.
Our client base is very diverse, and we understand the different requirements of each client.
We understand from working with start-up technology companies how frustrating and overwhelming the patent system can seem initially, and so we strive to advise and guide our clients through this, while taking a hands-on approach drafting and prosecuting patent applications to grant.
Research and development is crucial for any technology company, and it is our job to develop a targeted patent portfolio based on this R&D.
We look at the big picture, and strive to provide the most commercially beneficial path through the patent system. One of the most rewarding aspects of working as a Patent Attorney is the sense of satisfaction that comes with prosecuting patent applications to grant and hence assisting our client companies to grow.
Because of our extensive experience in working directly with the technical and business client personnel we build up a strong rapport with our clients, akin to being in‑house attorneys.

Michael Weldon is a European Patent Attorney with 30 years of experience in a wide range of technologies including medical devices, energy systems, and communications technologies.

Sinéad Weldon

Sinéad Weldon is a European Patent Attorney. She works primarily in the fields of medical devices and energy systems.

John O’Brien

John O’Brien is a European Patent Attorney with 40 years of experience in a wide range of technologies including medical devices, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals. John and Michael have worked together for many years, and John now works as a consultant to the firm.
